A garage conversion in Los Altos
A garage turned into a full living space, keeping the cedar ceiling and adding a kitchen, bathroom, laundry and closet.
The project
What we built in Los Altos.
The garage was open framing, a slab and a roll-up door. It is now a bright living space with a full kitchen along one wall, an island with seating, a bathroom, a laundry closet and a walk-in closet, with the original cedar ceiling kept and exposed above it all.
New windows and a glass door bring in light from the yard, and the exterior was finished to match the house. The progress photographs show the framing and insulation stage, which is where most of the work in a conversion like this happens.
