Palo Alto · Bathroom Remodeling
A hillside primary bath in Palo Alto
A freestanding tub at a corner of glass, looking into the trees.
The project
What we built in Palo Alto.
The tub sits where it belongs: at a corner of glass looking into the trees, with a black floor-mounted filler and steam rising on a cold morning. Around it, a curbless walk-in shower with a teak seat and clerestory window, a floating fluted oak vanity under sconces, and a wall of white oak wardrobes facing the bath.
A guest bath was rebuilt in the same project, with a floating walnut vanity, round mirror and black fittings, because opening the walls once is cheaper than opening them twice. Everything behind the tile was rebuilt to last as long as the stone on top of it.
